Microsoft mouse model 1054.

Microsoft mouse model 1054.

This is an RF mouse, not Blue Tooth. It requires a USB dongle be inserted into the computer which I think is somewhat dangerous as it protrudes just over two inches. The specifications give this mouse a two foot range, I believe. I found that it was often times less than one foot. When playing World of Warcraft the mouse would loose contact causing numerous drop outs. I was embarrassed when I could not help other characters on quests and…

Overview of some web technology I use.

I will attempt to outline some of the devices, and methods that are used to construct my web sites, of which there are four. Also I have included some recommendations, some training aids. Please keep in mind that I am a Macintosh person. “If you want to get it done, do it on a Mac”. Thus, the advice below will refer to Macintosh solutions. Sites: There are five sites I am involved in as follows: Site 1: This blog site…

Macintosh Firewire hard drive for open microphone use.

Macintosh Firewire hard drive for open microphone use.

I had to create five edit bays, a few years back, for a Broadcast Journalism program that allegedly got kicked out of a college lab facility for political reasons. Each new edit room was a closet sized room, close to being square in shape which was bad for standing waves. The small size was a problem as each edit bay would have a microphone available for voice overs to video and the close in walls would throw any ambiant sound…

Utilities for the Mac, Alsoft DiskWarrior.

Utilities for the Mac, Alsoft DiskWarrior.

I put together a small lab of computer work stations to edit short video and audio for the Broadcast Journalism and RTVF in a college. I chose to buy Glyph hard drives as they had a reputation of running quiet for open microphone use. I could hot swap the drives out to keep the edit bays functional, another neat feature. I called their technical support and had a wonderful conversation with a gentleman about how best to keep the dives…

Freefall, screen saver for the Mac.

Freefall, screen saver for the Mac.

(Originally reviewed 2006) (March 14, 2015) We no longer recommend this software for the Mac.  Technical support appears to not exist.  The web site is pathetic.  I paid for a license but can not find an upgrade path, probably because there is no viable upgrade.  It is my guess that the software has not been updated for some time.  This is too bad because this product was, visually, very powerful.  NOT RECOMMENDED. When I walked into a Macintosh computer store…
