“The rules about what games local TV stations are allowed to air are crafted between the NFL and networks which carry the games (FOX, CBS, NBC, ESPN and NFL Network). Local affiliates (i.e. FOX31 Denver) have little control in the process – and are sometimes at the mercy of the decisions made on-the-fly by the network.” https://kdvr.com/2013/11/08/how-the-nfl-and-tv-networks-influence-the-football-games-fox31-airs/

I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a close friend of mine loves the Philadelphia Eagles. I have come to enjoy following that team also. The problem is that the corporate operators don’t care about our wanting to watch the Eagles games. Eagle’s games are seldom televised on the west coast. It appears to be all about what is best for the networks and the NFL.

Channel checking the huge station choices offered by my cable company, I am amazed at how many stations are simply awful and in my opinion, a waste of channel space. It is really retarded that there is not a second tier system where there are more sports networks that can bid on out of area NFL and other sports events and fit into my cable channel choices.

December 30, 2018, I get a call on my cell phone telling me that my Apple account has been breached and to press the number one on my phone to talk to technical support. I press number one but get disconnected. I look at my cell phone call log and write down the phone number that shows for this last call. I go to my computer and do a phone number reverse lookup and discover that the call shows coming from Apple. I call that number and after wading through their awful automated answering machine I get to talk to a live person. I describe what happened and the technical support lady said the call was a scam. I told her that my phone showed her number in my call log. She said that it was easy for people to show other phone numbers as the call back number. I thanked her and hung up.

Why is it that anyone can alter their call back number? The phone industry is retarded for allowing this to take place. I propose that altering your call back number become a criminal offense because I fail to see any good reason why it should change except for nefarious reasons.

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis Retirement Letter.

President Trump on Thursday announced that Defense Secretary Jim Mattis would be retiring at the end of February.

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis’ letter, dated December 20, 2018, to the president of the United States, with highlighted portions and inserted (text blocks) that allegedly seem to conflict with an ignorant and stupid president and reads very much like a policy outline telling the president the correct course ahead and what is best for this nation and this world:

Dear Mr. President:
I have been privileged to serve as our country’s 26th Secretary of Defense which has allowed me to serve alongside our men and women of the Department in defense of our citizens and our ideals.

I am proud of the progress that has been made over the past two years on some of the key goals articulated in our National Defense Strategy: putting the Department on a more sound budgetary footing, improving readiness and lethality in our forces, and reforming the Department’s business practices for greater performance. Our troops (should) continue to provide the capabilities needed to prevail in conflict and sustain strong U.S. global influence.

One core belief I have always held is that our strength as a nation is inextricably linked to the strength of our unique and comprehensive system of alliances and partnerships. While the U.S. remains the indispensable nation in the free world, we cannot protect our interests or serve that role effectively without maintaining strong alliances and showing respect to those allies. Like you, I have said from the beginning that the armed forces of the United States should not be the policeman of the world. Instead, we must use all tools of American power to provide for the common defense, including providing effective leadership to our alliances. NATO’s 29 democracies demonstrated that strength in their commitment to fighting alongside us following the 9-11 attack on America. The Defeat-ISIS coalition of 74 nations is further proof.

Similarly, I believe we must be resolute and unambiguous in our approach to those countries whose strategic interests are increasingly in tension with ours. It is clear that China and Russia, for example, want to shape a world consistent with their authoritarian model — gaining veto authority over other nations’ economic, diplomatic, and security decisions — to promote their own interests at the expense of their neighbors, America and our allies. That is why we must use all the tools of American power to provide for the common defense.

My views on treating allies with respect and also being clear-eyed about both malign actors and strategic competitors are strongly held and informed by over four decades of immersion in these issues. We must do everything possible to advance an international order that is most conducive to our security, prosperity and values, and we are strengthened in this effort by the solidarity of our alliances.

Because you have the right to have a Secretary of Defense whose views are better aligned with yours on these and other subjects, I believe it is right for me to step down from my position. The end date for my tenure is February 28, 2019, a date that should allow sufficient time for a successor to be nominated and confirmed as well as to make sure the Department’s interests are properly articulated and protected at upcoming events to include Congressional posture hearings and the NATO Defense Ministerial meeting in February. Further, that a full transition to a new Secretary of Defense occurs well in advance of the transition of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in September in order to ensure stability within the Department.

I pledge my full effort to a smooth transition that ensures the needs and interests of the 2.15 million Service Members and 732,079 DoD civilians receive undistracted attention of the Department at all times so that they can fulfill their critical, round-the-clock mission to protect the American people.

I very much appreciate this opportunity to serve the nation and our men and women in uniform.

December 19, 2018, Judge Emmet G. Sullivan ruling in the case of Michael Thomas Flynn, shocked most of the United States by not rendering a quick decision to give Flynn no jail time. Why was there such a disconnect between the nation’s expectations and how the judge presided?

Ever since President Trump became the leader of the United States and showed himself to seemingly act like a crime boss, there has been a slow slide downwards of expectations on the part of the American public for this administration to act honorably, responsibly, compassionately, and legally. The alleged crime boss has also taken to undermine some public institutions. The alleged crime boss fails to value research, facts and convention. He seems to show bias against minorities and women instead of representing all Americans equally. These behaviors seem to be motivated for self gain and ignorance. He uses lies, falsehoods, intimidation, and threats to put pressure on anyone who he thinks crosses him.

Here is a viewpoint.

As a result, the public may have taken on a tenor of diminished expectations toward this administration and maybe the outlook for this nation. When we expect so little, might this not also put the same shadow upon the people who work in our national institutions?

Maybe because the whole nation has lowered it’s expectations for proper political and legal action resulting from the dark pale put upon this nation by this woeful lack of proper leadership that we are shocked to experience one legal mind that still maintains the values of the Constitution and all the proper legal values growing from that document. It, thus, happened that the low expectations going into the legal proceedings, December 18, 2018, contrasted sharply with the judge’s ruling. We should commend U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan for standing up for and making legal pronouncements that support proper USA values and more importantly becoming a champion for the rule of law and for setting the past American values into their proper elevated place, and ideals that we all should be supporting.

Another interesting happening in the hearing is that the judge made the suggestion that Michael Flynn may have been a traitor. I think this may have been a decided calculation on the judges part. He may have been warning the alleged crime boss followers, family and friends that they too are treading close to being traitors or may have already done so.

U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan, just might have decided to be a preacher, an advocate, for the US legal system and the political system to maintain its core values.

Judge Emmet G. Sullivan is my hero figure for December 2018 and maybe for the year of 2018.

November 16, 2018, I got an offer from Amazon to participate in a questionnaire on my cell phone.  If I participated, I would get a prize of significant value.  I plowed through the questions and at the end there was a screen showing Amazon items for sale at reduced prices.  I thought the prize would be free.  Problem was the items were utterly useless to me and probably most other people.  At the very end or bottom of the listed items was a military flashlight.  I would love to buy it but it was sold out!  I would love to go back and retake that survey because I would lower my scores of Amazon.

Aside:  I have come to despise corporations for valuing their own interests over the regular people.

The main concern of the American people is health care. It seems that the Republicans are doing a U turn. To win votes they are pretending to do what the American people want now but will probably go on doing what their beliefs are and that is to kill preexisting health conditions embedded in the Affordable Care Act.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, often shortened to the Affordable Care Act or nicknamed Obamacare, is a United States federal statute enacted by the 111th United States Congress and signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010  (1)

Republicans have wanted to kill Obama Care at lest 70 times. which covers people with preexisting conditions.  Republicans allegedly do not care about the citizens of this country but instead support the interests of corporations and oligarchs.

Republicans are now allegedly lying about Obama Care. They have consistently voted to kill Obama Care in the past but now that mid terms elections are coming up shortly and they see the polling numbers are way up and may favor the Democrats. Now they LIE!  Now they claim they support the Affordable Care Act to get your vote.

This is intellectual dishonesty. This is unethical. This is hypocrisy. This is lying by the Republican Party. This is a despicable act.
