“Maduro heads an authoritarian government, and has been described as an autocrat and a dictator. Between 2013 and 2023, Venezuela dropped 42 places in the Press Freedom Index. According to estimations by the United Nations (UN) and Human Rights Watch, under Maduro’s administration, more than 20,000 people have been subject to extrajudicial killings and seven million Venezuelans have been forced to flee the country. The UN Fact-Finding Mission on Venezuela concluded that the country’s justice system independence has been deeply eroded; the mission also identified frequent due process violations, including political external interference and the admission of evidence through torture. Most Venezuelan television channels are controlled by the state, and information unfavourable to the government is not covered completely.  In 2018, a Board of Independent Experts designated by the Organization of American States (OAS) alleged that crimes against humanity have been committed in Venezuela during Maduro’s presidency.  In 2021, the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) announced the opening of an investigation regarding the situation in the country.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicol%C3%A1s_Maduro

RESULTS FROM VENEZUELA HAVING A CORRUPT POLITICAL SYSTEM:

  • More than 20,000 people have been subject to extrajudicial killings.
  • The country’s justice system independence has been deeply eroded.
  • Mismanagement of the economy.
  • Rampant violence,
  • Inflation,
  • Gang warfare,
  • Soaring crime rates
  • Shortages of food, medicine and essential services.
  • Currently, 96 percent of Venezuelans live in poverty

Why is it that Donald Trump has such high approval among US voters when the evidence about the man should diminish his standing?

One of the most significant group of voters that support Donald Trump are white Christians.

“… most White Christian voters say they would vote for Trump over Biden if the election were held today”

“… he promised to expand religious liberty and nominate pro-life judges who would overturn Roe v. Wade. Perhaps even more important, he fought in the culture war against anti-religious fanatics.”

“… it’s difficult to imagine evangelical Christians would prefer a world where the president is of good character but attacks their values and religious beliefs.”

CONCLUSIONS:

“Religious liberty is enshrined in the U.S. Constitution, yet the meaning of this core American value has been debated throughout the nation’s history. Today, conflicts most often arise from Christian nationalism, the anti-democratic notion that America is a nation by and for Christians alone. At its core, this idea threatens the principle of the separation of church and state and undermines the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. It also leads to discrimination, and at times violence, against religious minorities and the nonreligious. Christian nationalism is also a contributing ideology in the religious right’s misuse of religious liberty as a rationale for circumventing laws and regulations aimed at protecting a pluralistic democracy, such as nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQI+ people, women, and religious minorities.”

“…critics have described White Christian nationalism, a deviant strain of religion that has infected the political mainstream. White Christian nationalists believe the US was founded as a Christian nation, although the Constitution never mentions God and enshrines the separation of church and state. Its adherents twist biblical language to justify violence, sexism and hostility toward people of color.”

Americans’ top policy priority this year? Strengthening the economy.

“No single issue stands out after the economy.”

Nearly three-quarters of Americans (73%) rate strengthening the economy as a top priority.

Pew Research Center

Next question:

Which political party has performed the best in delivering this priority?

“…an analysis of economic performance since World War II under Democratic versus Republican presidents strongly suggests that claims that Republicans are better at managing the economy are simply not true.”

“… since World War II, the economy has performed substantially better under Democratic presidents.”

Donald Trump Evaluation

Donald Trump Evaluation

Donald Trump is allegedly all of the following:

  • Lacks intelligence.
  • Con artist
  • Fraud
  • Ignorant
  • Lies constantly.
  • Racist
  • Trump is an autocrat.
  • Trump is a traitor.
  • List of criminal charges against Donald Trump.
  • Donald Trump killed 400,000 (or more) Americans.
  • Trump is self centered, only concerned about himself. (book:  The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump …)
  • Trump may be in a psychotic spiral. (Bandy X Lee MD).  (book:  The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump …)
  • Trump exhibits arrested development. (Bandy X Lee MD)  (book:  The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump …)

Trump’s political plans:

  • Trump supports the plutocracy.
  • Plutocrats are normally autocratic.  They are concerned about themselves.
  • Trump is still running for the presidency so he can stay out of jail.

The problem is many Americans fail to analyze properly, to calculate the positive and negative issues to vote with intelligence.

The Financial Times did an article “What makes Donald Trump irresistible”.

They call it “the Trump factor”.

Following is a list of factors;

  1.  Grit
  2. Spectacle
  3. Nostalgia
  4. Faith
  5. Economics

Note how the Financial Times, above, list contrasts shockingly with his significant list of negatives at the beginning of this article.

The Financial Times article seems to reveal the utter lack of many Americans to properly evaluate the many factors associated with  the large number of personal detriments vs attributes of Donald Trump.

Properly Done: One would hope that each American citizen would take note of all positive and negative aspects of Donald Trump and place a value on each and then come up with a plus or negative TOTAL result.  Instead, the Financial Times article seems to reveal incredibly simple minded, flawed, approach by many Americans.  This apparent lack of conducting a good analysis by many Americans may lead to the ruin of the United States!
