Parachute Electorate
Some of the United States electorate parachute in with a view or belief and then as quickly leave the continuum of discussion and intellectual discovery. These individuals hold a particular political or social viewpoint that upon further examination they spout from hearing friends views or hear a talk show or read an article in a newspaper or magazine with little or no tie to real facts. They might not have interest in politics or the time to immerse themselves in the time it takes to formulate well researched and thought out opinions. Political parachute individuals occupy every part of the political spectrum and are not tied to the Republicans or Democrats.
