A few months before September, 2017, I joined the Amazon Associates Program where I hope to get paid for my web site visitors clicking on advertisements and making purchases.  I was looking to help cover my web site expenses.  (Below, I added bold and underline to emphasize some text).

Thank you for your interest in the Amazon Associates Program.

We have completed our review of your application to the Amazon Associates Program, which included a visit to the registered websites on your application. Unfortunately you are not in compliance with the Operating Agreement that governs your participation in the Associates Program.

We noticed that you codified prices into your website.

Product prices and availability may vary from time to time. Because prices for and availability of Products that you have listed on your Site may change, your Site may only show prices and availability if: a we serve the link in which that price and availability data are displayed, or b you obtain Product pricing and availability data via the PA-API and you comply with the requirements regarding use of the PA-API.
We do not allow hard-coding of prices. We are therefore unable to approve your application. Accordingly, we have closed the account under which you had been temporarily approved.

 

My offense was to include prices that I paid for this and that item in some posts so my readers could get an idea of the project cost.

My response:  I do not appreciate nor will allow anyone telling me how to write my blog posts.   This example above, allegedly, might be another example of a corporation trying to control news.

I just upgraded my phone to an LG-V30 and being just over $800, I wanted to protect my investment.  I purchased an OtterBox case which comes with a belt clip.  I then decided to add for $44.99 a PureGear High Definition Tempered Glass screen.  That added screen protection decreased the screen sensitivity to my finger touches.  When I tried to type text, I had to keep going back and hit a particular key again.  I found this product quite annoying.

Otterbox LG-V30 Case Protection = Recommended for men.  For women, this might not look appropriate as it adds more thickness and side bulk.  For women, the belt clip, I just can not see any women using.

Otterbox case protection problem:  The LG-V30 comes with Qi technology that allows you to just set your phone on a wireless charger.  Problem is that there are many reports that Qi chargers fail to work with the Otterbox due to its thickness.   Here is my results so far (November 24, 2017):

  • I just happened to go to my local shopping mall and one of the vendors, Zagg, was selling Otterbox cases.  I asked about Qi chargers.  They had one and allowed me to put my cell phone on it.  It worked.  I did not see the box it came in but using a web site I think this is it – Mophie “charge force wireless charging base”.  Problem with this particular Qi charger is that there are a LOT of complaints that the company, Mophie, does not stand behind its products.

PureGear screen protection = Not Recommended for careful users.  If you are in some business like construction or you think you might drop your phone a lot, then consider this product.

Chrome Browser Does Not Show My Amazon Advertisements

 

I noticed that when I viewed my web site using Chrome, the advertisements along the left side widget area did not show correctly.

Instead of Amazon advertisement showing properly, this image appeared.

I went into my Chrome extensions and turned off each one until I found the culprit.  It was Privacy Badger.

Once I turned Privacy Badger Chrome extension off, my Amazon advertisements would show.

Make sure you carefully listen to the end of this podcast because they bring up some possible, really bad, scenarios:

• A military take over by the generals that Trump has surrounded himself with, to stop Trump from getting to the nuclear codes and start a war.
• Trump might start a war to rally the nation behind him.

The illness, the president allegedly has, is sociopath.  Here are some traits for this affliction (Obtained from http://www.mcafee.cc/Bin/sb.html):

(1) They are habitual liars. They seem incapable of either knowing or telling the truth about anything.

(2) They are egotistical to the point of narcissism. They really believe they are set apart from the rest of humanity by some special grace.

(3) They scapegoat; they are incapable of either having the insight or willingness to accept responsibility for anything they do. Whatever the problem, it is always someone else’s fault.

(4) They are remorselessly vindictive when thwarted or exposed.

(5) Genuine religious, moral, or other values play no part in their lives. They have no empathy for others and are capable of violence. Under older psychological terminology, they fall into the category of psychopath or sociopath, but unlike the typical psychopath, their behavior is masked by a superficial social facade.
