Machiavellian view of why Rep. Devin Nunes may have aided President Trump.
I propose a Machiavellian explanation why the House Intelligence Committee’s investigation chairman, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), went to the White House without telling his committee colleagues he was to meet with a secret source. Quite a few reporters, congress people, and citizens share the view that Nunes may be sabotaging his committee’s efforts. Why? One possible explanation is by rendering his committee invalid and thus furthering the possibility of a special prosecutor being appointed. Here is the Machiavellian reason: A special prosecutor should delay any investigation, maybe years. President Trump may have a way better chance to stay president for a much longer time. So far, his leadership is incredibly flawed in so many ways. If the House of Representatives investigation is “sabotaged” this will work way better, for Trump. If we then see the senate investigation also get derailed, get cynical. If there is a derail effort by the administration to kill the senate investigation, this should be taken as a despicable effort to keep an unqualified man in the oval office.
