Continuum Of Treason

Continuum is a mental realization, a mental tool, that we use as a means to realize natural and man made things we view in life. It is a really interesting intellectual way that we can visualize, in our minds, some opposite situations that are related. We are, in effect, placing a mental ruler of varying length between two opposite situations that we see, when those situations lend themselves to be measured together.

For a continuum to work there should be two opposite extremes but they are connected typically by degree. We typically “see” or realize the connection of the two extremes because they shout at us that they are opposite and connected in some way. But, there should be a factor of degree or how much of one side or the opposite side we are looking at and set a value on that point. The word I used is “degree” and that is vitally important to appreciate because it is a concept that will link the two opposite extremes. Typically there is more or less degree of something. There are an incredible number of continuum’s.

Let me offer some simple continuum examples followed by how each can be measured:

  • Light to Dark (Light meter)
  • Happiness to Sadness (Expressions on a person’s face)
  • Dry to Wet (Rain gauge)
  • Still air to Hurricane (Anemometer)
  • Short to Tall (Ruler)

The word “to”, in the above examples means that there can be a transition or movement from one extreme to the opposite extreme or one side to the opposite side. This transition can be short or long or any length. It is up to the person telling or writing where on the continuum scale we are concerned.

A really good continuum is one where the two opposite extremes are far apart because we are more likely to notice the differences. A really good example is the change of seasons. When this takes place in the northern hemisphere where the trees change color and plants go dormant the continuum process is very slow but unmistakable.

Some continuum’s lend themselves to be shown in graphic form.  When showing a continuum graphic, there are some common standards that some people use. Usually a line is used and the end points are labeled as to the minimum at one end and maximum at the other end. Typically the graphic continuum line is horizontal but for some measurements like height it is usually vertical. Let me show you a continuum line for treason (see below).

Accident        Collude        Coordinate         Conspire         Treason
X_______________________________________________X

In the Mueller Report there is a continuum that is revealed in the Introduction To Volume I. This continuum is explained as the degree that the Trump administration worked hand in hand with the Russians. At one end of the continuum is low criminal level called helping, which might be done by “accident”. Next serious might be helping Russia on purpose, called “collusion”, for some implied gain by one or both parties. The next, more serious degree is to “coordinate” with Russia. This third to last degree, coordinate, is considered illegal in the United States. The Mueller Report hones into two points on the continuum, collude and coordinate. For some reason collude is not illegal. Obviously coordinate is illegal because it implies BOTH parties are working together for a single purpose. But, I propose that coordinate might also mean that BOTH parties were working together but avoided detection.

Conspire, second to the last right side continuum point, is definitely a crime.  The Mueller Report failed to establish this activity took place by the Trump administration.

The last, far right, point on the continuum is treason and this is definitely illegal. It is a bit different in that it specifies that individuals actually work against the interests of the country.  The Mueller Report did not show examples of this continuum extreme by the Trump administration.

Let me state this again. In the Mueller continuum he talks about three out of the five main continuum measure points:  collude,  coordinate and conspire. The continuum begins with less formal and works toward more formal working together between Trump administration and Russia. Let’s read the definition of all five continuum points:

Accident: “an event that happens by chance or that is without apparent or deliberate cause”. Obviously we have no concern for individuals in the Trump administration helping Russia by accident.  This is the low end of the continuum, non criminal.

Collude: “cooperate in a secret or unlawful way in order to deceive or gain an advantage over others”.  This sure sounds like we are getting close to criminal activity.

Coordinate: “negotiate with others in order to work together effectively” implying, in this case, that the Trump administration was working with Russia toward some nefarious end.  But, “”coordination” does not have a settled definition in federal criminal law”.  The Mueller Report states that coordination requires an agreement – tacit or expressed – between the Trump Campaign and the Russian government on election interference.  The Mueller Report failed to support the view that the Trump administration came to this level on the continuum.  (The Mueller Report goes on to state “That requires more than the two parties taking actions that were informed by or responsive to the other’s actions”.  I think this is a mistake in the report because it states “more than the two parties”.  Coordination typically implies two or more parties.  Two is enough to make coordination!)

Conspire:  To make secret plans jointly to commit an unlawful or harmful act.  The Mueller team used this threshold on the continuum to trigger a response that the Trump administration broke the law which they did not reach.

Treason: the action of betraying one’s country, the United States.  There are no reports that the Trump administration approached this level on the continuum.

One definition of treason uses the word “betray’ which has further meaning of “expose one’s country to danger by treacherously by giving information to an enemy.” Think of the number of times Donald Trump had private consultations with the ruler of Russia and no one was allowed to record what took place.

Looking at the above continuum points, I find it impossible not to categorize “collude” as a crime. But, collusion, itself, is not a specific federal crime. The dictionary definition comes close to saying that the Trump administration did commit a crime. The Trump administration did collude with the enemy of the Untied States, Russia, as outlined in the Mueller Report. Russia wants a weak United States and Putin viewed Trump as acting toward that end. Donald Trump received help in getting elected and possibly received more secret benefits from Russia. That should be illegal and a punishment should be handed out to those who participated in those acts..

The Department of Injustice – Opinion

Opinion

A number of recent Department of Justice incidents seems to paint this government agency as having a pro Republican bias and out of this propensity may lead the United States into being a dictatorship.

The first incident was when FBI Director Comey decided to make a late-October, 2016, announcement that the Clinton email probe had been reopened. The FBI is under the jurisdiction of the Department of Justice.

The second incident was when the Department of Justice McCabe decided to publicly confirm the existence of the Clinton Foundation probe.

“In each case, FBI officials violated Justice Department policy against disclosing sensitive information about investigations close to an election, and in each case they did so to the disadvantage of the Democratic candidate” Hillary Clinton and to the advantage of the Republican candidate, Donald Trump.

The third incident is when William Barr, the US Department of Justice Attorney General, failed to release the full Mueller Report to congress and the American public allowing Donald Trump to promote his version that he was innocent.

It appears to some that the Department of Justice could be now called the Department of UnJustice for ignoring the norm to not promote one political party over another.

This is a problem for a number of reasons. First, is the expectation that any national government agency should act without bias and adhere to norms and policy. Second is the apparent Department of UnJustice allegedly throwing flower petals on the path for the Republican Party that seems to be on a trajectory to diminishing the United States from being a Democracy as outlined in the book How Democracies Die.

Muller Report Is Complete – No New Indictments – Why? – Opinion

With all the individuals around President Trump have faced criminal charges being convicted, pleaded guilty, charged/indicted, totals to 34 individuals including foreign nationals.  With this presidency being considered the most corrupt.  How is it that Muller fails to bring indictments against the president and his children?  One possibility is that Muller did find significant damning facts.   It would be rather difficult if not inappropriate for Muller to indict the president and individuals close to him.  Would it not be way more prudent for the Justice Department, to hand over the facts to congress and let that body take appropriate action?

Impressions of the Cohen Testimony of February 27, 2019

Opinion

Following are impressions of the Cohen hearing, listed not in order of importance:

Impression 1: My overall impression was why were the February Tuesday and Thursday hearings secret? What does congress want to hide from the people?

Impression 2: With some minor exceptions, I felt that Cohen was sincerely telling the truth.

Impression 3: The 5 minute rule for the interrogators was way too short. It seemed that the Q and A seemed to improve toward the end of the 5 minutes and were rushed and cut short resulting in incomplete answers. It seemed that an unrealistic inquiry approach was more important than grilling for the truth which further painted the hearings as a show piece to pacify the public.

Impression 4: The Republican hearing members attacked Cohen and utterly failed to defend Trump which came across as the most pathetic effort to support the Republican Party. The Republican hearing members came across way less capable to work toward serving and saving our Democracy. All the Republican hearing members appeared to be political party boot licking; party first, not the people.

Impression 5: Some Republican Party members in the hearing room and out seem to sincerely support President Trump which puts into question their education, reasoning ability, and intelligence level.

Impression 6: I found the next day newspaper reports shockingly deficient in their analysis. No paper that I examined, on line, raised the Cohen hearing story as being highly important. The Washington Post even took the approach to list all of Cohen’s ambiguities and sounding like they were taking the Republican view of attacking Cohen. It seemed that every paper, that I viewed, utterly failed to see and report the impression that I came away with. You would think that the long building list of negative factors being revealed about Trump, that our county is being led by an alleged self serving crime boss, might be a bit more important than Trump’s unsuccessful meeting with the North Korea leader. The newspaper reporting, today February 28, is not fake news but a bit incompetent.

If Trump Is Found Guilty. (Opinion)

Opinion

I keep hearing reports that a few government individuals, who seem to have private insight into the inner workings of the national security organizations, have stated that it is their view that President Trump is a criminal and possibly a traitor. I personally find this utterly shocking. I have had to reflected upon this because it is so loud in my mind and I am trying to figure out what follows if this is actually true. Remember, please, that what follows is pure conjecture.

If President Trump is found to be a criminal and/or traitor within the Mueller’s report, and is successfully prosecuted for such crimes, this could be devastating for a lot of the following individuals and bodies:

United States could loose some amount of respect for brining to power a dictator and/or traitor. This typically happens in more backward nations. So is the United States so backward? On the other hand, if the United States solves this problem using our legal system, this should raise our standing, not in the political realm, which has been utterly incompetent, but our legal system which should stand out as being rather strong and robust and maybe a model for other nations.

The Republican Party comprises about 24% of the total electorate. This very low number could even erode further handing way more power to the independents and Democrats. We need a two party system and the Republican Party has been run by plutocracy money interests and not the interests of the whole electorate for too long. Independents comprise the highest percent, about 42%, and they may need to form a democratic socialist party to further their aspirations and let us all see the Republican Party die off.

Vice President Pence’s power and position could vastly diminish by being put in office by an alleged despicable. He should be forced out of office if President Trump is actually found guilty.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has seen the Republicans supporting President Trump with a 90% approval rating. He has allegedly done nothing to stop Trump proving that the political system in the United States is nearly incompetent compared to our legal system. His “reward” will be written in the history books.

Supreme Court Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh, Justice Neil M. Gorsuch and other federal court judge appointments, made by Trump, could be seen as as illegitimate appointment(s) and call for removal of all his appointments should be considered seriously.

All political appointments made by President Trump should go through a reconfirmation process by congress for reasons already stated.

The plutocracy that supports the Republican Party and tries to control the “Supreme” Court for it’s own selfish gains may find that the nation will, under a new expected progressive government, rewrite the tax code to favor the lower and middle classes, expand health care for all, offer free college education, thwarting climate change and more; all resulting in taxing the rich at much higher levels. The, 1%, plutocracies power of using money to buy influence needs to be diminished in this country for the betterment of all.

Mueller’s Report Revealed Soon? (Opinion)

The end of February, 2019, we received a number of news reports that Mueller’s final report was soon to be released. This seems unlikely because there are quite a few more threads of this investigation that have not been explored.

Mueller just might release a first report followed later with further report(s). If this is what actually takes place, here are some possible reasons why:

The president was found to be an agent working for Russia and his alleged actions to diminish the United States need to be stopped.

The president is slowly turning this county into a dictatorship and this needs to be stopped.

The president is close to shutting down the Muller investigation and needs to be stopped.

Mueller is not confident that delaying the report will see the light of day when it is placed on the desk of the attorney general and placing a first report that shows the vast importance of the investigation would ensure that the investigation continues until all the threads are examined.

Trump’s Attacks are Allegedly About Himself.

The alleged secret to decode and understand Trump’s attacks upon others is to understand that being a nearly complete narcissist, he can only view his self and place those same self labels upon others.

Trump:Feb 20, 2019 08:49:13 AM – The New York Times reporting is false. They are a true ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!
Meaning: Trump is “the enemy of the people”.

Just apply this example to any future attacks you read or listen to from Trump and you will better understand what is actually transpiring.

Why is President Trump shutting down the United States government?

Why is President Trump shutting down the United States government?   A possible explanation is to divert YOUR attention from his alleged crimes:

  • Allegedly using Russian help to get elected.
  • Allegedly working for Russian interests  which could be treason.

Trump has been referred to as a mob boss. It is a fact that his minions have left a rather long list of crime and despicable acts.  Here are web site lists of alleged crime boss Trump and his lieutenants activities:

If the U.S. Government shutdown is a stunt, a lot of people are suffering because of it.

Democrats Should Respond To Trump’s Proposal?

Saturday January 19, 2019, President Trump offered to the Democrats his usual demand to fund the wall between the United States and Mexico for 5.7 billion dollars. His new negotiating offer is to serve up temporary extensions to DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and Temporary Protected Status for refugees who hold that status.

The Democrats responded with a flat rejection which might have been a mistake for these reasons:

A flat rejection paints the Democrats as not caring about the government shutdown. A lot of Americans fail to look deeply into the issues and for them issues like this are black and white.
A flat rejections sort of shows to federal workers that the Democrats don’t seem to care about their suffering.
There are a lot of Americans who are affected by the government shut down and these people just want to get their lives going again and want a quick resolution. Not being seen as working toward a solution may be a negative for the Democrats among this population.

Why then, did not the Democrats offer up a response such as allow 3 billion for the wall and full protection in the future for DACA and immigrants? Trump would most surely reject such a offer but we are dealing with perceptions and the Democrats would be seen as trying to make a good come back offer and with that, enhanced reputation.

The Democrats do have a good point that the shut down should have never been used for such a worthless purpose. Trump would probably shut down the government again if he does not get his way in the future. The Democrat’s stand should teach Trump that this tactic is futile. Problem with this thinking is, with Trump’s alleged lack of intellect, he never learns any lesson, fails to take good counsel and seems incapable of doing what is right for others. He only works for his self interests.  The Democrats need a tactic where Trump sees his self interest advance.

Does The Shocking New York Times Article Have Another Purpose?

Was there any secret purpose to release to the New York Times the shocking story: F.B.I. Opened Inquiry Into Whether Trump Was Secretly Working on Behalf of Russia? Or, was this story just the result of darn good reporters digging this stuff up? Let’s examine a couple of reasons why someone in the FBI, Muller’s investigation group or the New York court system might have informed the New York Times about the facts behind this story to the Times:

#1) Some government employee just might have secretly released the details to the New York Times, to better tie the hands of incoming Attorney General, William P. Barr who Trump seems to have picked knowing of Barr’s opposition to the Mueller’s investigation and may shut it down.

#2) Another possibility is that Mueller, might have some proof that President Trump knowingly colluded with the Russians. Someone close to that investigation would realize that selling this “fact” to the American public is not a one step process of drawing the curtain away suddenly to reveal. A way better tactic is to more slowly show the “facts” to the public. It might be way more intelligent to turn the public’s attention toward the curtain and slowly slide the reveal from under the curtain, inch by inch. The New York Times article could be the first glimpse of what is to come next.
